Dancehall Ka’aysarà

Key visual para cultura reggae · Santos, SP

O conceito

Key visual for reggae culture · Santos, Brazil

The concept

Caiçara is someone who lives between land and sea. Dancehall Ka’aysarà lives between the Baixada and Jamaica.

The name already held the concept, since Ka’aysarà means caiçara, the coastal people. The identity started there, joining the resistance of reggae with coastal culture.

The golden sun and the waves are the two main graphics. One brings the heat of Jamaican music, the other brings the sea that defines life in the Baixada.

The letterings Chega Mais, Plural Love and Reggay?! speak the language of the dance floor. Short phrases with humor and invitation, made to travel across the event’s pieces.

A sound box, sunglasses and the portal with moons complete the illustration kit. Each piece can stand alone and still be Dancehall.

The seal signs everything. The result is an identity as diverse, warm and collective as the event itself. Jah bless.

Elements
Golden sunThe sun opens the identity because it brings the heat of Jamaican music. It is the first graphic you see and sets the party tone for every piece.
WavesCaiçara is someone who lives between land and sea. The waves tie the event to the Baixada coast and balance the Jamaican sun with the territory of those who dance.
LetteringsChega Mais, Plural Love and Reggay?! are dance floor phrases. I turned them into type because they speak with humor and invitation, the way the crowd already talks.
IllustrationsSound box, sunglasses and the portal with moons form a kit. Each piece works alone and still reads as Dancehall, which gives freedom to build every post.
SealThe seal gathers everything into one signature. It identifies the movement anywhere and closes an identity as diverse, warm and collective as the event.
